Refereeing Do you enjoy responsibility? Do you love the game but don't want to play? Do you want to wear slimming vertical stripes? If so, get into refereeing! Without knowledgable referees, games cannot run smoothly, or cannot run at all. With an established education system for officials, volunteers can learn more about the game than you ever thought possible. With possibilties for travel all around Britain or just to Blitz games, officiating is an exciting and fulfilling experience. Without officials who are competent and confident to act responsibly and think on their feet, the game would fall apart, just look at some (to be honest quite comical) incidents that have happened in the the space of just a few weeks. These are actually game incident reports from referees.
"Path intersects endzone, covered this with a crash mat and declared it out of bounds. Stanchion near end line padded. 1 ball person provided by Cambridge. Kick off delayed 6 minutes due to late arrival of ambulance" "Some hashmarks in one endzone, some yard lines not always 1 yard apart, and no 5 yard lines" So if you are interested in getting involved as a referee please do not hesitate to contact the Inverness Blitz. |
