Strength and Conditioning

All Inverness Blitz athletes are encouraged to participate in organisation's Strength and Conditioning programme. Due to lack of time the majority of the Strength and Conditioning work done at present focuses on Olympic Style weight training done at the Inverness College Weights Room. All sessions are conducted by a suitably qualified instructor and are specific to the individual athlete.

It doesn't matter what age you are...In fact the Blitz encourages athletes to get involved in this style of training from as young as 11 / 12 years old.  We have conducted reseach into this area and found that there is no evidence to suggest that weight training is dangerous or detrimental to the health of young people if done properly.

To get involved in Strength and Conditioning you must first be part of an Inverness Blitz Programme / team.  Ask your coach how to get involved in the Weight training or contact the Blitz office directly.
